We found this issue to also occur on an older DNP server:
ERROR 2015-07-26 10:09:04,610 - Failed to get users
System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Access Denied.
This is all related to Windows Authentication issue.
In this server, the Windows Authentication was not installed at all.
To resolve:
Start --> Server Manager --> Roles --> Add IIS Role --> Windows Authentication --> Make sure it is set to Checked so that it gets installed, and hit Next.
In our test server, which had Windows 2008 64bit (notice this is NOT Windows 2008R2), it took almost 10 minutes till initialization installation window showed signs
a moving progress bar and nearly 25 minutes in total for the completion of this installation.
NOTICE that you must do an IIS Restart after you install the Windows Authentication, otherwise, it will still not show in the IIS.
