  • Scheduler showing LogonUser failed with error code : 1326 msgs

When trying to create a backup, you may see the queue says the operation completed, but no backup file was created.

If you check the Scheduler Log file, you may see the following error msg:

    ERROR 2015-09-10 05:14:51,929 - LogonUser failed with error code : 1326
ERROR 2015-09-10 05:14:51,929 - Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password
    INFO 2015-09-10 05:14:51,929 - Checking next password
    ERROR 2015-09-10 05:14:51,945 - LogonUser failed with error code : 1326
ERROR 2015-09-10 05:14:51,945 - Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password
    INFO 2015-09-10 05:14:51,945 - Checking next password

This means the backup folder, like C:\HostingBackups is missing the owner of WPEnterpriseServer or DNPEnterpriseServer in it's list of Users.

If you created your own directory, like: c:\MyBackups and you didn't add the EnterpriseServer user, then the WebsitePanel (or DotNetPanel) cannot write the backup file to that folder (hence the 1326 error msg).

Just add it in the Properties with full control as shown in the pic above.

Another reason that will have this issue is if you try to save to a Mapped drive.
If you map a Google Drive to a letter on the network, you can access it with no problem, because you are an administrator.
However, the WPEnterpriseServer has no write permissions onto the mapped folder as it is located on different operating system.
You need to make sure you use the correct Add Destination in the "Create a Backup" tab.
If you are trying to backup to a cloud solution you need to use the appropriate destination option. Trying to use the mapped drive option will not work.
