  • I'm still getting a 401 Error and I don't have Windows Authentication Enabled

    The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.

    After an install, when running the utility, you may the utility to hang on even a clean install.
    If you open the log file, you will see an error block that starts with:

    ERROR 2015-03-23 02:04:18,296 - Failed to get users
    System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.

    The problem is with the WSP Enterprise Site Authentication settings.

    In the IIS go to: Sites --> WebsitePanel Enterprise Server --> ISAPI Filters--> make sure you only see the following filters:

    In the ISAPI Filteres, you should only see the following ASP.NET_xxxx lines.
    If you see IISProtect or any other ISAPI filter in the WebsitePanel Enterprise Server. simply highlight it and delete it.
